About Me

Picture taken by my then 3 year old son Jake

This is my fourth year at Troy.  Prior to being at Troy, I spent 10 years teaching at University High School in Irvine, CA.  Over that time, I would often drive by Troy (as I only live a mile from the school) and think about how great it would be to work this close to home.  Eventually, an opportunity for me to change schools arrived, and I jumped at it.  It has been great.  I enjoy riding my bike to work on sunny days, and really appreciate not having to get on the freeway to go work.  In my ten years of teaching, I have taught all levels of math from Basic Skills through Trigonometry.  In addition to the math, I have taught computer programming in PASCAL, C++ and Java.

Outside of teaching, I am very involved with water polo.  As a referee, I can be found on the pool deck officiating all different levels of water polo.  In the fall I will ref Boys High School, Men's and Women's Junior College, and Men's Collegiate.  In the winter, the only game in town is the Girl's High School, and then in the spring, it is the Women's Collegiate.  Come Summer all the levels are playing, and it keeps me very busy.

When I am not working, teaching or officiating, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I have a wonderful wife of 11 years, Wendy, and two terrific sons, Jake (now 4) and Jack (now 1)

If there is any free time left, my other hobbies are playing golf and riding my bike.
